IRS Levy, Wage Garnishment and Tax Lien Help in Bergen County

A levy takes money. A lien is a claim against what you own. Both can usually be stopped, released or worked around once a resolution is in place, and with a levy, speed matters most.

What we handle

Stop the collection, then fix the cause.

A levy release without a plan behind it usually leads to the next levy.

Bank levies

Released when we can show hardship or put a payment arrangement in place within the holding period.

Wage garnishments

An IRS wage levy continues every paycheck until it is released. We work to release it with a plan or hardship status.

Final notice and appeal rights

The final notice of intent to levy gives 30 days to request a Collection Due Process hearing, which generally pauses levy action.

Federal tax liens

A public claim against your property, usually filed on larger balances. We handle release, withdrawal and the payoff.

Selling or refinancing

Lien discharge or subordination requests so a closing or refinance can go through.

State levies too

New Jersey bank levies and wage garnishments and New York income executions, handled the same way.

How it works

Fast where it has to be.

01

You authorize us

You sign a power of attorney, IRS Form 2848, online. From then on IRS notices come to us too, and we speak for you.

02

We stop the clock

We contact the IRS, document hardship or propose terms, and request the release.

03

We resolve the balance

A payment plan, hardship status or offer keeps the next levy from coming.

Common questions

Questions people ask first.

Can you get my bank levy released?

Often, if we can show hardship or set up a payment arrangement quickly. The 21-day holding period is the window to act.

Will a lien hurt my credit?

The three major credit bureaus stopped including tax liens in 2018, but a lien is public record and will show up when you sell or refinance property.

How do I get a lien removed?

Paying in full releases it within 30 days. A lien can sometimes be withdrawn entirely, for example after setting up a direct-debit payment plan on a balance of $25,000 or less.

Does New Jersey do this too?

Yes. New Jersey can file a Certificate of Debt, levy bank accounts and garnish wages. New York issues tax warrants and income executions. We handle both.
